Can you prescribe testosterone or HRT?

No. Trident Labs is a retailer of blood tests and supplements. We are not a pharmacy and not a medical practice, we employ no prescribers, and we supply no prescription-only medicines. Testosterone and HRT are prescribed by a GP or a specialist after an assessment. If a test result suggests you need one, take the result to them — the PDF is laid out for that conversation.

Do you offer consultations?

Not at present. We sell tests and supplements, and we publish a library explaining what the results mean. Anything that requires examining you, taking a history or making a diagnosis needs a clinician, and that is not what we are.

Are your blood tests a diagnosis?

Accepted Answer

No. A blood test measures and reports. A diagnosis needs your history, an examination and clinical judgement applied to the numbers. Our reports show each marker against its reference range with an explanation of what it measures, which is genuinely useful — but it is information, not a verdict.

Question 4

Do your supplements treat anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Supplements are foods, not medicines, and by law they cannot be presented as preventing, treating or curing any condition. Where a nutrient has an authorised GB health claim we quote it exactly as it appears on the register, and where there is no authorised claim — ashwagandha, for instance — we make none.

How does an at-home blood test work?

The kit arrives in plain packaging with lancets, a collection tube, wipes and a pre-paid return envelope. You collect a small sample at home, post it back the same day, and the laboratory analyses it on the same accredited platforms used by NHS pathology. Results appear in your account, usually within two to three working days of the lab receiving the sample.

Is a finger-prick sample as accurate as a blood draw?

For the markers we offer on finger-prick kits, yes — those panels are validated for capillary collection. Larger panels need more blood than a finger-prick reliably yields, which is why the Advanced Male Panel uses a venous sample. If a sample arrives too small or clotted, we send a replacement kit free of charge.

When should I collect my sample?

Before 10am for anything measuring testosterone or cortisol, because both follow a daily rhythm and reference ranges are built on morning samples. Female hormone panels ship with a cycle timing guide, since oestradiol and progesterone are only interpretable on the right day. Avoid testing during or shortly after an acute illness.

Do I need to fast?

Not for any of our panels. HbA1c reflects roughly three months of glucose and is unaffected by breakfast. Triglycerides read slightly higher after a large meal, so if you want the cleanest lipid picture, collect before eating — but it is a refinement, not a requirement.

Which laboratory analyses my sample?

Accepted Answer

A UKAS-accredited partner laboratory operating to ISO 15189, the standard that governs medical testing laboratories in the UK. The laboratory is named on every result report, along with its accreditation number.

What do I get with my results?

Accepted Answer

Every marker plotted against its reference range, an explanation in plain English of what it measures and why it is on the panel, a laboratory comment on sample quality and anything warranting a GP appointment, and a downloadable PDF formatted to hand over at that appointment.

One of my results is flagged. Should I be worried?

Accepted Answer

Usually not, but it is worth reading properly. A reference range covers the middle 95% of a healthy population, so by construction one in twenty healthy people falls outside any given range. On a forty-marker panel, at least one flag is the expected outcome. A markedly abnormal result is different — contact your GP rather than researching it.

Will you explain my results to me?

We explain what each marker measures, and the library goes considerably further. What we cannot do is tell you what your specific results mean for you, because that requires knowing your history and examining you. Our support team answers questions about orders and kits, not medical questions.

Question 13

Can I share results with my GP?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we would encourage it. Every result set downloads as a PDF laid out for a clinician — markers grouped by system, units and reference ranges alongside each value, and the laboratory's accreditation on the report. Private results your GP has never seen cannot inform your care.

Why are your doses higher than other brands?

Accepted Answer

Because we dose to the amount used in the research rather than the amount that lets a claim sit on the label. Our omega-3 provides 1100mg of combined EPA and DHA where the authorised heart claim needs only 250mg. Where a lower dose is the sensible choice — zinc, deliberately kept to 15mg to avoid interfering with copper — we say why.

Can I take several of your supplements together?

Generally yes, but check the totals. Taking the Daily Foundation multivitamin alongside our standalone vitamin D and zinc puts you close to the upper intake level for both. Doubling up on fat-soluble vitamins is the combination worth watching. If you take prescribed medication, ask your pharmacist.

How much is delivery, and how long does it take?

Standard UK tracked delivery is £10.00, dispatched securely with tracking provided, arriving in one to two working days. Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are dispatched the same day. We ship within the UK only.

Question 17

What does the packaging look like?

Accepted Answer

Plain. There is no branding, no product description and nothing clinical on the outside of the parcel — just an address label. The return envelope for test kits is equally unmarked.

Question 18

Can I return a test kit or a supplement?

Accepted Answer

You have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, and 14 days from telling us to send the item back. There is an exception the law makes for sealed goods that are not suitable for return once opened for health protection reasons — that covers unsealed test kits and opened supplements. Anything still sealed can go back for a full refund. A faulty or damaged item is refunded or replaced regardless.

Question 19

My sample was rejected by the lab. What happens?

We send a replacement kit free of charge. The common causes are a sample too small to analyse, one that clotted before reaching the lab, or one that spent too long in transit. None of those are your fault in any way that should cost you money.
